My little nephew Henri was christened on 8 April 2018, with a party to celebrate held afterwards at the local cricket pavilion. The room was a complete blank canvas, with a lot of blue going on - curtains, chairs and that carpet! I worked with my sister-in-law Rebecca to bring her vision for the space to life - with a florist in the family there were definitely going to be some creative decorations, however we didn't want to go floral when it was a celebration for a little boy.  The answer - foliage! I definitely feel foliage is under appreciated, there are so many gorgeous varieties, shapes, textures and scents. I therefore used two different varieties of eucalyptus - parvifolia and populus - as well as soft ruscus in the designs. We'd visited the pavilion a few weeks before to discuss ideas and see what would work in the space.  One of the main features of the decorations was this hanging curtain of foliage which was strung across the full width of the room. It's great when decorating a space to not only think about the available surfaces in a room but also other places you can bring detail into. There was a handy beam across the centre of the room from the room divider which lent itself perfectly to the hanging curtain, which could be viewed from anywhere in the room and was therefore a very versatile decoration.  Another main feature was this wall of hanging hoops, which would double up as a photo backdrop. Everyone was posing for photographs in front of it and some of the images I've seen so far look amazing. There were 11 windowsills in the pavilion, so we just had to decorate these! Luckily I have a huge collection of glassware, so we utilised these along with windowsills. We had some sills with a combination of five different sized and shaped vases, and the rest had loose garlands of foliage draped along them.  The garland and vases along the back wall were actually a last minute add on, as looking down the room it really felt like something was missing. I had some foliage to spare so we made the simple soft ruscus garland and added a few extra vases along the back of the food table - it finished the room off perfectly.  Some of the other decorations we incorporated were little vases on the tables, more vases on either side of the bar, garlands over the two hatch doors through to the kitchen and Rebecca also got these translucent white balloons. Not only did these look really elegant in the room the kids loved them!

Emma and Ollie were married on 31 March 2018 at Crondon Park and went for a vintage/dusky lilac tone for their flowers - represented in the stunning 'amnesia' rose. I also used avalanche roses, veronica, gypsophila and eucalyptus parvifolia.  This wedding was a lovely size in terms of the number of arrangements I had to make, so I had a nice relaxing day designing the flowers (it's not always like that, I know people say it must be so nice to play with flowers for a job but there is a lot of work that goes into it and for bigger weddings the day before can be really full on!) I keep everything labelled as I go along to help make sure that everyone gets the right flowers.  The bride's gorgeous bouquet featured the full range of flowers, with the bridesmaids having smaller, simpler versions without the veronica. This is such a pretty combination of flowers, I'm not always a huge fan of gyp but when paired with pastel/vintaged toned flowers it can look really lovely.   The buttonholes and corsages were a simple affair, pairing an 'amnesia' rose with gyp, with a small amount of euc parvi for the groom Ollie's.  They were finished off with twine and decorated with a cute little bow - so rustic and very pretty.  I also provided flowers for the reception area - a mid sized long and low for use on the ceremony table and later the top table, and a pair of jam jars on a wooden log slice for the centrepieces and card/present table.   The delicious cake was designed by Mary Eddington from Mary Bakes Yummy Cakes - we worked together to decorate the tiers with groupings of avalanche roses and gyp, resulting in a simple yet stunning arrangement. Sam and Nathan were married on 24 February 2018 at Crondon Park. Their beautiful colour palette of ivory, blush pink and grey was perfect for this winter wedding, though luckily they got sun rather than snow! I used a combination of roses, spray roses, anemones, ranunculus, waxflower, phlox, brunia, senecio and eucalyptus. Sam's bouquet is absolutely one of my all time favourites - it was so soft and dreamy! That senecio foliage was so pretty and so soft to the touch, complimented beautifully by the brunia berries.  The bridesmaids bouquets were smaller versions of the bride's, but with all white flowers rather than the pink. The lovely Tina from Beautiful Hair 4 Weddings sent me a couple of photos, including the bride and her maids and the beautiful hair she did for bridesmaid Emily. The girls all look so gorgeous! This super pretty wedding featured for different combinations of buttonholes and corsages - it's nice for the groom to have a standout buttonhole, and for the rest of the buttonholes to differ from the corsages. Also how cute are the brunia and eucalyptus buttonholes for the little page boys! I loved setting up at Crondon Park - such a pretty venue! Sam and Nathan went for mason jars with flowers from the wedding, which sat on log slices in the centre of each table. The top table also had some little rose gold vases dotted around, some with flowers and some with tealights. Everything looked so pretty with the love letters and fairy lights all around.
