Last Sunday I dressed Hylands House with flowers for their preview day. There was an Autumnal orange theme so I used orange roses, spray roses, dahlias, amaranths, astilbe, dianthus and chrysanthemums, plus cottons, ivy, grasses and ferns. I also made some pink bud vases for my table and the little tables in the Terrace room.
I mostly dressed the Banqueting room but also provided flowers for the ceremony room, the entrance hall and an 18 foot garland for the marquee. I had a great day - there were lots of visitors to the venue and I spoke to some lovely couples. I didn't want to take all those flowers home with me, and unfortunately none of the stems were still long enough to make lonely bouquets, which I usually do when I have extra flowers. I therefore delivered the martini vase toppers to some deserving causes on my way home - people I knew that had been having a hard time, have been really supportive of me and my business and just people whose day I wanted to brighten. The two pedestal arrangements also made their way to All Saints Church in Great Braxted. Needless to say the arrangements were all very gratefully received!

Well it's coming up to that time of year again - Christmas will soon be among us! It is with that thought in mind that I have released the dates for my Christmas wreath workshops. These are limited to groups of four people and available on a first come first served basis, and one evening is already fully booked! The workshops cost £40 per person, or £35 for previous or future brides of Hannah Louise flowers (booking must be confirmed by 31 October 2016) A £10 per person non refundable booking fee will be due to confirm your places and the final balance is due one week before the workshop.
I'll be serving homemade cake and tea/coffee/hot chocolate. No experience necessary - it's all for fun and I will be on hand to help! If you'd like to book then please send an email to [email protected]. |
