Jo and Tom's wedding

*My apologies in advance as this is going to be a very photo heavy post!!

Jo and Tom were married on 11 May 2017 at the beautiful South Farm in Cambridgeshire. Jo is one of my best friends for over 10 years now after meeting at school, so it was such an honour to be asked to do her flowers (and also to be one of the eight bridesmaids!) Jo and Tom actually live in Edinburgh but we managed to fit in a few consultations before the big day to perfect and finalise the flower choices. We went for a combination of Duchesse de Nemours and Sarah Bernhardt peonies, David Austin Keira roses, avalanche roses, primaballerina roses, spray roses, sweet peas, irises in honour of Jo's nan, ammi, lisianthus, hypericum, astilbe, gypsophila, waxflower, delphiniums, soft ruscus, olive and three varieties of eucalyptus.

I was up at 5am on the Tuesday morning to be ready for the flower delivery, keeping my fingers crossed that they would come early....they didn't come until 8am!! I'm nothing if not adaptable though, and my glamorous assistant, aka mum, came to the rescue to help me condition them as I had somewhere I needed to be for 10am. I was back early afternoon and got straight to work, greening up the table arrangements and milk churns. I also got started on the flowers in the evening - I would never be done on time otherwise!

Here are some of the prep/working photos:
It was another early start on Wednesday morning to get more of the flowers done. I was heading up to the venue in the afternoon to set up the tables and to build the flower curtain that would hang behind the top table. Mum came along again for the ride, though I'm very grateful she did because it took us two and a half hours at the venue even with the two of us, so I dread to think how long it would've taken me on my own! The groomsmen were all there as well hanging lights so I'm sure I could have roped them in to help if I really needed it!

After setting up the venue it was back to the workshop to finish off the bouquets and do the buttonholes and corsages. I actually managed to get finished by 9.30pm which is pretty good going I think!! I needed to catch up on some sleep though to be alert the next day to be on bridesmaid duty for Jo.

I tried to take photos of the flowers I used but mostly ended up just shooting the peonies! How could I not when they look this beautiful?!
And now here's a look at the final flowers - the bridal bouquet, eight bridesmaid bouquets, the groom's buttonhole, eight other buttonholes, two corsages, two milk churns, eight jam jar chair ends, seven table centrepieces and garlands, three top table arrangements, the flower curtain and two thank you bouquets for the mums. Phew! No wonder I was so tired afterwards! Tom actually ordered the thank you bouquets himself, which was really sweet, along with a single red rose beautifully packaged to give to Jo with some other little presents. What a romantic!
Here are a few other random photos I took. How cute are the caravans?! My boyfriend Ben and I stayed in the large green one in the middle, which we also posed in front of for the group shots so it'll be interesting to see the professional photos!
Last but not least - a sneak peek at one of the professional photos that has already been released - shot by the incredibly talented Ed Godden. I can't wait for the rest!
